Administered Virginia's Hazard Elimination Safety (HES) Program including: the analysis and selection of projects, development and maintenance of whitepaper documenting Virginia's HES program, coordination and conduct of special safety and operational studies including accident studies and highway simulation, develop and conduct Highway Capacity Software (HCS) training, provided technical support to VDOT's Internet Steering Committee, integrate available computing resources to automate work flow, provide end user computer support and network administration. Supervise one Engineering Technician VI, including conducting performance appraisals and writing performance plans.

Supervised three Engineering Technician III positions, including filling vacant position, conducting performance appraisals and writing performance plans. Made recommendations regarding the deployment of personal computers and developed several databases and automated document templates.

Reviewed completed construction projects for necessary actions by the Commonwealth Transportation Board (CTB). Constructed project sketch. Obtained field recommendations and concurrence of local governing body. Prepared resolution for CTB action. Disseminated information regarding approved CTB Actions.

Participated as a beta tester for the Blacksburg Electronic Village.
Earned amateur radio license (KE4HET).

Assisted in the development of a proof of concept model for a Computer Aided Value Engineering System. Wrote several Microsoft Excel macros to exchange data from Autocad to a Knowledge Base Expert System (Kapa).
