The Cascade Vaulters traveled to Chilliwack, Canada for the Equestrian Vaulting Association of BC's Summer Celebration. It was a good competition and enjoyed by all. We are working on a Barrel Team Freestyle for the 2007 season. So far we have three practices where we have worked on the team freestyle and it is starting to come together. Most of these vaulters have been vaulting for less then four months and have never been in a competition.

For those that have seen the big blue ribbon on Cali's stall, yes, Cali did win "Best Horse" at the American Vaulting Association's Region III Championships this past weekend with horse scores as high as 6.7. On Saturday July 8, the Cascade Vaulters vaulted in the Redmond Derby Days' Venture Bank Grand Parade in downtown Redmond. Sandy, Alyssa and Ryan performed on Cali for a few thousand spectators along the parade route. We also had help from several of the club's parents.

Our big June event was a vaulting demonstration at Bridle Trails State Park on June 24. We got help from the Mt. Rainier Vaulters, of Buckley, WA, and the Sky Mt. Vaulters, of Snohomish, WA. We performed for an audience of between 500 and 1000 spectators.

Our vaulter, Ryan, did very well at the EVA of BC Summer Celebration held in Chilliwack, BC this weekend, June 10-11, 2006. She took first place in all three classes she entered, Beginner Barrel II, Costume Barrel and Trot D.
